Editorial policy: how we write and update our guides

CVforGulf publishes practical guidance on CVs, cover letters and applications for the Gulf and Pakistan. This page explains how that content is produced, checked and corrected.

What our guides are for

Our guides help job seekers prepare application documents: CV format, structure, wording, ATS screening and common hiring practice in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Pakistan. They are general information. They are not legal, immigration or financial advice, and they do not guarantee interviews, offers or visas.

How a guide is written

  • Each guide targets one clear question a job seeker has, and answers it near the top.
  • Advice is based on how recruiters and applicant tracking systems commonly handle CVs, and on public information from employers, job portals and official sources.
  • Rules, fees, visa requirements and legal points are linked to an official or primary source where one exists. If we cannot point to a source, we say it is general practice, not a rule.
  • We do not invent statistics, testimonials, salaries or employer names.

Authors and reviewers

Each guide shows who wrote it. Guides published under “CVforGulf Editorial Team” are written and checked by our in-house editors. When a named reviewer has checked a guide, their name and the review date appear on it. If no reviewer is shown, no separate review has taken place.

Updates and corrections

  • The “Updated” date on a guide changes only when the advice or facts change, not for typo fixes.
  • When we change something that matters, we add a short update note on the guide.
  • Found an error or outdated rule? Tell us with the page link and, if you can, a source. We review reports and correct confirmed mistakes.
  • Posts that duplicate a better guide are merged and redirected rather than left to compete.

Advertising, tools and independence

CVforGulf offers free and paid tools and services, including the CV builder and writing services. Guides may link to them where they are relevant, and such links are clearly CVforGulf links. The site may show advertising, which is labelled as an advertisement. Ads and our own products do not change what a guide recommends, and we do not accept payment to rank or praise third-party products in our guides.

Use of AI tools

Some CVforGulf tools use automation to help draft CV or letter text. Content you generate is a draft for you to check and edit. Our published guides are reviewed by people before they go live.
